Energizing the path to advancement

Exploration is a key aspect of our business, concentrating on deepwater regions in the U.S. Gulf Mexico Offshore Oilfield’s Western Australia, West Africa, and shale and tight resource plays in the United States, Canada, and Argentina. In 2020, we plan to drill 39 exploration and appraisal wells globally. Our technology continuously advances to tackle emerging challenges, playing a crucial role in discovering new resource opportunities and converting proven reserves into production through major capital projects. With a strong project portfolio, we are well-positioned to bring significant new resources to global markets.

Heavy oil

Leveraging our advanced heavy oil technologies, we aim to extract billions of barrels previously deemed inaccessible, even though they have already been discovered. With over 50 years of innovation in this area, our investment in state-of-the-art processing technologies has greatly increased the amount of recoverable reserves.

Natural gas

Natural gas, known for its cleaner-burning and efficient qualities, accounts for about 22 percent of the global energy supply. With natural gas resources across six continents, we are well-positioned to meet the growing demand.

Shale/tight resources

The global energy supply landscape is evolving due to natural gas and crude oil extracted from shale and tight rock formations. We are actively involved in developing new resources in these shale and tight formations, with ongoing projects in the United States, Argentina, and Canada.

Deep water

By pioneering innovative technologies, we are at the forefront of accessing oil reserves located deep beneath the ocean floor. Operating in promising global locations, we tackle challenging weather conditions, icy waters, and high pressures to carry out deepwater drilling and seismic activities, reinforcing our leading position in major oil-producing regions around the world.

LNG

While the world has abundant natural gas reserves, a considerable amount is located far from high-demand areas. We are deeply involved in every aspect of liquefied natural gas production and secure transportation, ensuring it reaches the rapidly growing markets worldwide.
